By @Li Zhongwu In following paragraphs,we take a real event as our example to show how our claimed freedom is relative and context-based.We analyze this event in an economic system, with some basic assumptions, conclusions could be drawn deductively. We also show how culture and living environment always play some vital roles in shaping our intuitions and perceptive minds which guide our daily life. Occasionally,I have some thoughts about "freedom" granted to us.Freedom is never static and absolute, instead it is always changeable and relative.Freedom is context-based,without referring to specific situation, universal freedom definition is inaccurate. Today morning, due to bad connection to campus internet,I went to the top floor(roof) of international hostel for sunlight.I want to insert that,I appreciate winter season in the sacred city. While I was crossing the entry gate,I came across a Nepalese student and his Somali classmate who were stepping down to first floor for something. We greeted each other and smiled, because we all are familiar even if they did their bachelor in AIS for just one semester.I walked back and forth along the floor, for a while,I naturally walked toward the other side of the top floor. At that moment,I had a glimpse at those chairs which are usually used for learning by students, firstly,I saw a Biology book put on a table,I did not have more considerations about it;however, the turning point is that I also saw a phone placed on the chair. After several seconds,I planned to leave this place, after all,it would bring out misunderstandings on my motivation(Why I stood near to his phone? Our cultures are different,so,it is easy to mislead each other's views). But,from the other side, once I departed from here,if the situation became complicated,it would cause more misunderstandings. The complication is that if someone else we suppose who is not gentle enough secretly picked this phone, then, two students mentioned above would subconsciously link this misbehavior to the person who met them just now. What if it happened?Even though I could take an oath that I am honest and moral, they would still treat me unfairly.I believe that any common people would have this type of logic deduction,so,the probability of making a wrong judgement on me is slightly lower than making a wrong judgement on others.More worse development is that they would spread their incorrect conclusions to other students,we all know rumors like viruses would penetrate into every undefended hole.My assumption is based on some intuitions which may be biased.Firstly,he likes his phone too much,so that he would have very frustrating feelings as he loses his loved girl;Secondly,he accumulates his small changes through a long period of time to buy the phone.Thirdly,he does not own sufficient information about me which would lead to information asymmetry trap;Fourthly,he supposes although I do not have that type of misbehavior,I should have some information about who has come to his chairs.Fifthly,he thinks that I have surplus money in my pocket,so marginal loss of compensating him is low; Finally,he assumes that I easily give in strong pressures from peers. With those points,he would be willing to sacrifice my reputation to serve his own interests, because this rational decision satisfies total potential benefits are greater that total potential losses. Through this logic derivation,I finally departed that place for the other side, but I had to supervise anyone who would possibly approach to the chair. With this action,I understand nobody could have the courage to do something wrong.I would have been keeping this gesture for a long period of time, unless he was aware of his phone on the chair, then, came back to get it.Fortunately,he turned back to his original place within just 3-4 minutes,at the moment,he also found that I was continuing walking along the floor at the other side. After he got his phone,he would have two kinds of conjectures, one is that I had not walked to his place during his absence periods, the other one is that I had walked to his chair and found out his phone, but I was a really gentle man.Generally speaking,if he is not a student of economics,or if he is not a student having a concept of "Game theory",he would never have had the third kind of conjecture. It would be that I have walked to that place, and I was really a gentle man,but I was afraid of his misunderstandings(why I stood near to his chair?),hence,I walked out of his place,at the same time,I needed to fear that others would have wrongdoing if I totally disappered from the floor, therefore,I walked toward the other side to continue supervising any possible suspect as a detective till his presence within the range of my eye sights. This is a very disappointing assumption about our real world, because we do not place the morality to the top priority of considerations. All our opinions and assumptions are gained from our neibouring environments, supposing that you ask a Muslim not to pray to his "God" in Saudi Arab, they would definitely classify you as a bad man.Your living environments have too deep influences on your minds and ways of thinking, hencewith, you always have so-called "the sixth feeling" to guide your daily life. Here,it does not mean that I have some discriminative views about the campus morality, but, several experiences indeed contributed me some enlightenment. What I mean here is that freedom domain is constrained in our situation.Once I walked towards to his place,I had to leave there for the other side, but I also had to stay somewhere that is within the range of my eye sights till his presence. If he was not present after a long period of time,I had to continue waiting for him with the hope of his quick presence.I must bear the loss of freedom, because my current unfreedom is to gain more freedom in future. We are conscious that any exploitation of our freedom is gaind by others, freedom is a dynamic and relative concept. However,in some social system, the total freedom domain is continously decreasing, your freedom loss is precondition on my freedom loss.If that is a common phenomenon, then, the system is unhealthy and foul, all people suffer heavily.
